Cancel a Purchasing Card

In the event that you need to cancel a Purchasing Card for any reason, the cardholder must:

  • notify the following:
    • Citibank Customer Service, at 1-800-248-4553 (call collect 1-904-954-7314 when dialing outside of the U.S.)
    • cardholder’s Purchasing Card administrator - pcard@harvard.edu
    • cardholder’s Purchasing Card reviewer
  • return Purchasing Card and any outstanding receipts to relevant Purchasing Card local administrator
  • cancel all standing orders/recurring transactions with vendors.

Common reasons a PCard should be cancelled/closed:

  • Terminated employment of card holder
  • Transfer of cardholder to another department
  • Cardholder's extended absence from Harvard
  • Lost or stolen card (see HOW TO: Card Security)
