Financial Policy

The Financial Policy Office (FPO), within the Office of the Controller, oversees the development, communication and management of University-wide financial policies. The mission of FPO is to ensure that financial policies are accessible, easy to use tools for the Harvard financial community, and to help create new policies where needed.

When creating a policy, the FPO partners with subject matter experts and stakeholders; draft policies are reviewed by the Financial Policy Review Committee, (FPRC) a group comprising financial managers from each school and many central units. The Executive Financial Policy Board sets direction and priorities for financial policy broadly.
